Sony USB vinyl turntable review

Vinyl is still coming back!
Vinyl has been coming back for a while now. I recently purchased a Sony PX-LX300USB Turntable that's been around for quite a while. I bought it as an open box at Best Buy so got a deal on it (around $60; normally runs in the $100 range). It's a USB turntable that allows for recording your albums to MP3's using a USB cable connected to your computer, but that's not the main reason I got it since I did something like that many years ago. I'm part of the group that's of the opinion that vinyl is, if not superior to, more enjoyable to listen to than MP3s and CDs. See my Sony NW-A45 Walkman review also.
Software
The version of the included Sony software, Sound Forge, is *VERY* dated (like 2007!) and you can only upgrade if you're willing to shell out some cash. It works fine but I found that Audacity for both Windows and Mac works great and that software is updated fairly regularly.
Connecting to an old receiver sounds great!
I have an older Sony turntable that, spec-wise, is superior to this turntable but it has problems unfortunately and is ready for the trash. This new Sony PX-LX300USB Turntable brought life back into a very old receiver and speaker system I've kept (the receiver actually has a VCR player in it!). I haven't used this equipment in years. This is the best sounding equipment I have and this turntable sounds great with it.
